Before we had even left the UK, we had a phone call from the Hotel asking when did we expected to arrive that day. Arrive – we were still in the UK. We/I had made a terrible mistake and not read the confirmation correctly. The staff transferred our booking to the following (correct) day. Without any fuss and with max efficiency, & NO cost penalty to us. On arrival the Chateaux looked most impressive, and the grounds were immaculately kept. The staff met us and immediately upgraded our superior room to a suite. Most impressive! The food was out of this world, brilliantly prepared & presented, with good wine to complement the meal. Good wi-fi connection. This was without doubt one of the nicest places we have stopped in France.
Breakfast was really over priced for what is was, however, if you book this Chateaux, then it’s not booked for a cheap place to bed down for the night.

The setting was beautiful - a perfect place to relax. The grounds were extensive making it possible to explore woodland, walk beside the estuary, or simply relax in one of the many areas next to the chateau. The food was superb and the staff very attentive. I really liked the fact the chateau was not commercialised - it was unspoilt and not overcrowded. We were lucky to be upgraded into a superior room so felt very spoilt. We had a memorable stay at Chateau de Locguenole.
The price of an aperitif was steep - 15 euros for a glass of champagne but in such a beautiful setting and with canapes on the side we had to accept we were living the high life and should pay for the privelege.

Lovely views of the river and lovely grounds.
The staff (one of them anyway, the rest were nice) was very rude on check-in and the first night. It was clear that we were a nuisance rather than valued guests since we had our 3 year old son with us. When we asked about the dinner it my wife was sneered at and given the code for the door so we could come in after 11 at night as a 3 year old obviously could not be in the dining room. While the castle is nice, the rooms are starting to need renovation, e.g. the modern bath is not so modern anymore and quite run down.

My wife and I had a truly enchanting stay at this charming hotel. The location was simply breathtaking and the authentic atmosphere of the Chateau added to the overall experience. We enjoyed exploring the beautiful gardens and taking walks along the waterfront. The staff were always helpful and friendly, making us feel right at home. The Michelin 1 star restaurant was a culinary delight, with delicious plates that showcased the chef's artistry. And while the breakfast had a few minor disappointments, such as the pre-packaged baked goods and not-so-fresh orange juice, the abundance of offerings and friendly service made up for it. Despite a few small drawbacks, we would definitely return to this magical oasis in southern Brittany. we highly recommend this hotel.

Staff was not welcoming. Restaurant uneven and too few tables have views.
